This is the Vario-Elmarit 35-70/2.8 ASPH.
Only 200-300 units
were made by Leica .

This is how the mount looks

If you are going to use a Canon full frame camera, you'd have to remove the black shroud to avoid mirror hitting.

This is what is removed. Only three screws.
The two screws that secure the ROM contacts are not removed.

Now unscrew only the short screws of the mount.

Don't touch the long ones that keep the lens together.
These are the positions of the removed short screws.
Now put the Leitax mount on top of the original Leica mount.
And secure it using the provided screws.
Now, look at the zoom ring position, it is not at 35mm but at 36 or 37 mm.
This is the maximum you can put the lens before the mirror hits the rear glass housing using a full frame Canon camera.
Ready, this lens can be used on Canon in a rock-solid way.
