This is the Carl Zeiss Mutar III 1.4x teleconverter. |

First, unscrew the rear mount. |

And remove it. |

Now remove these four screws. |

So you can lift the entire optical group. |

And remove the two levers facing the rear side from it. |
![]() |
We have to remove this one too. |
There is a spring that we have to unwrap from this screw. |

Ok, free. |

Now we can unscrew that lever. |

Done, please save all the levers and screws to be able to rebuild this lens to the original condition. |

Put the optical group in its place and screw it. |

Now we can install the Leitax M42 mount . |

And you can use any M42 adapter for your camera. |

And the Mutar III is ready to work with a selection of Contax lenses. |
