This is the Apo-Macro Elmarit 100/2.8 . Perhaps, the best macro lens ever made. |
It is a 3 cams model. These instructions are valid for the ROM version too, just that there are no cams to remove. |
First, remove these 3 black screws. |
Now turn a little bit the black shroud this way, using the plastic tool, you will not make any scratch. |
This way, it can be lifted by this side. |
And can be removed easily, don't make any force, just find the right position. |
Now, unscrew and save the ten screws. |
Remove the bayonet just lifting it. Look for the small ball, sometimes, it remains sticked to the bayonet, put it in safe place for now. |
Unscrew the clear metal cams. |
This is what is removed. |
Now put some special grease on the small spring. |
And replace the small ball, leave a bit of special grease with it. |
Ball in place |
Install the Leica-Pentax or the Leica-Nikon bayonet, the red dot in front the scale center. The Leica-Nikon bayonet has the red dot slightly more to the right than the one at the picture. |
Remember the position of the screws.
And start with the four longer ones, then the rest and screw them in cross pattern, a little bit each one until they are all tight.
Remember this lens needs the special edition bayonet with ten holes. Now you can use this jewel on Pentax and Nikon cameras.
