We sell Leitax mounts to use Leica-R lenses on Mirrorless cameras
Welcome
to
Leitax, this is
our Leica-R for Mirrorless cameras page. After several requests from
our clients, we
decided to design a series of mounts for several mirrorless cameras
with
the same features
than
our
previous models.
Our clients asked me to solve the problems that the traditional adapters have. They asked for a rock-solid, screw-on mount solution, no matter the weight of the lens. Just like our popular Leica-Canon model.
Complains are mostly for the usual poor slot-spring solution to hold the Leica-R lenses against the adapter. This is not good because the tension of the mount is usually made by wedging a soft metal with a slot. The slot will deform but will not bounce back to shape. Over time the adapter will be loose fitting and the lens will tilt, specially heavier lenses. Another problem is the lens play that normal adapters usually have.
The Leitax mount will be screwed on top of the Leica-R original mount. This way, even the heaviest Leica lens will be as rigid on your camera as any native mount lens. The mount is made in one piece and the mechanical precision is not compromised.
The Leica-R lenses will focus to infinity and will maintain the aperture click stops.

The Leitax mount fits perfectly over the original Leica-R bayonet, we provide six new longer screws to attach solidly our mount on the Leica-R lens. But I recommend to remove only five screws on the Leica-R lens. This way the original Leica-R bayonet will never lose the correct position on the lens, and there is no risk to have the small internal ball bearing out of place. |

- Caution! The following lenses use screws of different diameter, so the standard diameter screws provided with my mount will not work. Please let me know if you want to use one of these lenses and I will send you additional thinner screws.

- Caution! Most of the Leica-R lenses with ten screws at the base of the mount can use our mount with the provided six screws at the normal positions (see the instructions), But some Leica-R Zoom lenses use longer screws at the standard six hole positions, for example:

This is why the mounts have ten holes, you can use our normal (or thinner) replacement screws at the positions where these lenses have the shorter screws (4 mm)
