Welcome to Leitax, this is our Olympus-OM to Nikon page. After several requests from Nikon users, we can offer now this new replacement bayonet to use OM-system Olympus Zuiko lenses on Nikon bodies.

-This conversion is fully reversible and will not damage either the lens or the camera. 
-The Olympus-OM lenses will focus to infinity and will maintain the aperture click stops
-The Nikon cameras will show a  focus confirmation light in the viewfinder.
-The professional Nikon cameras (D200 and up), and FujiFilm S5Pro, will meter in A and M modes (stop-down).
-Users of non professional Nikon cameras (D40, D60, D80, D90, etc) can select Manual mode and check the histogram of a test shot to meter accurately.

At this moment, we can offer a limited quantity of instructions. I think the lenses not included in the instructions will have no problem to use our Zuiko-Nikon mount, but I cannot be sure yet.

Caution!    The older versions of the Zuiko-OM 50/1.8 , 28/2.8 and 40/2.0  cannot use our standard OM Zuiko-Nikon Bayonet. You would have to use our special bayonet for these lenses. Please check the version of your lens comparing it with our instructions pictures.

Caution! The Zuiko-OM 135/3.5 can use the standard Leitax mount only together with a special spacer and longer screws.

Olympus on Nikon F , no adapter


For my calculations, all the lenses checked in my instructions will not hit the mirror of a Nikon full frame camera



The orange mark at our Leitax mount is the exact scale center of the Zuiko-OM lenses. And it can be used as a rough guide to mount  the lenses on Nikon cameras, as it is very near of the red dot position.




- We are selling and installing the Dandelion chip for Nikon on the Leitax mounts,  with it you get:
- Metering also with consumer-class Nikon cameras (D40, D50, D60, D80, D90, D3000, D5000..etc)
- If your camera has a 3D Matrix metering, it will function as well.
- Fine calibration of focus confirmation dot.
- Correct focal length and max. aperture in Exif data.
- These are the programming instructions
- There are only three film cameras that Dandelion is not compatible with: F4, F60 and F90x.
- Programming mode is not compatible with F5 and D1X/H models.
- This is how I glue the chip on a Leitax mount.
- But not all the Zuiko lenses can use the Dandelion chip, this is the list of tested lenses:
18/3.5, 21/2.0, 21/3.5, 24/2.8, 28/2.8, 28/3.5, 35/2.0, 35/2.8, 40/2, 50/1.4, 50/1.8, 50/3.5, 85/2.0, 100/2.8, 200/5, 300/4.5, 75-150/4

NEW - From December 18th. 2013 , the Leitax mounts are compatible with the Nikon teleconverters TC-14E II, TC-17E II and TC-20E II/III  Caution-- The front elements of these extenders poke out, so you can use them only on long focal Zuiko OM lenses, that have the rear elements deep inside the lens barrel.

- The registered mail service is reliable but the delivery time is not very fast or even regular. If you need the Leitax mounts fast or you have a deadline I'd recommend the courier option.

With certain models, we'll have to manipulate inside the lens, it's not a good place for something metallic. With this plastic tool I don't make any scratches in the Zuiko lenses. 		3 Euro

I use this model for the Phillips screws in the Olympus OM lenses, it is industrial grade quality made by Irazola, and the design is very good, you can push and turn it firmly with the rotary end and the rubber finish.
