Welcome to Leitax, this is our Nikon-Canon EOS page. After several requests from our clients, we decided to design a Nikon-Canon mount with the same features than our previous models.
Our clients asked me to solve the problems that the traditional adapters have. They asked for a rock-solid, screw-on mount solution, no matter the weight of the lens. Just like our Leica-Canon model.
I did another improvement over the normal adapters: ours is covering the shinny clear metal of the Nikon mount with a flat black painted rim. No reflexions inside the camera means no flares.
Complains are mostly for the usual poor slot-spring solution to hold the Nikon lens against the adapter. This is not good because the tension of the mount is made by wedging a soft metal with a slot. The slot will deform but will not bounce back to shape. Over time the adapter will be loose fitting and the lens will tilt, specially heavier lenses.
The Leitax mount will be screwed on top of the Nikon original mount. This way, even the heaviest Nikon lens will be as solid in your Canon camera as any Canon lens. The mount is made in two pieces and the mechanical precision is not compromised.
Our Leitax mount will trigger the AF switch in 1D series bodies.
There is a convenient flat surface in our mount to glue an electronic chip if desired. This chip will enable the focus confirmation light in the viewfinder.
Your Canon camera can meter and adjust the correct exposure in A and M modes with adapted Nikon lenses.
The Nikon lenses will focus to infinity and will maintain the aperture click stops.
The Leitax ensemble for Canon fits perfectly over the original Nikon bayonet, we provide all the screws needed to attach solidly our mount on the Nikon lens.

- Caution! our standard Nikon to Canon mount is not compatible with the PC MICRO NIKKOR 85mm 1:2.8 D lens.- Caution! The Canon 1d series need to install a chip on the Leitax bayonet to work at all. If you wish to use these cameras without a chip, let me know. I will make a special version for you.
- New! I have a special mount to use the Nikkor 55/1.2 lenses on Canon EF mount cameras.
-The
Zeiss ZF and ZF2
lenses can use this Nikon-Canon mount too. As you can see in this picture, the Zeiss Makro-Planar 2/100mm ZF and ZF.2 have the bayonet screws in different position. Therefore the lens will stay on the Canon camera slightly displaced. Also the 135/2 will have this small problem. Caution! if you want to convert the Zeiss 25/2, 100/2, 135/2, 35/2 or 35/1.4 ZF/ZF2 lenses, please ask for special screws. -If you have a Voigtländer SL II lens for Nikon, it can be used on Canon EOS cameras with this same mount.. |
You can order the Nikon-Canon bayonet here.
- The registered mail service is extremely slow these days. If you need the Leitax mounts fast or you have a deadline I'd recommend the courier option.

I use this model for all the Phillips screws in the Nikon lenses, it is industrial grade quality made by Irazola, and the design is very good, you can push and turn it firmly with the rotary end and the rubber finish. |

With certain models, we'll have to manipulate inside the lens, it's not a good place for something metallic. With this plastic tool I don't make any scratches in the Nikon lenses. |
